Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback the Russian player won his first trophy for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging year, managing just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in particular - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and finally separating with former mentor Cervara.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's maiden championship following the Rome competition and first on a hard court since March of that year.
The win also means Medvedev has won 21 victories at 21 distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters together, so to secure a trophy is really nice," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his last six title deciders, comprising in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and regular emotional displays on court had prompted commentators to doubt if his capacity to compete at the highest level was over.
However the player has made changes in the past month, making an effort to advance forward and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged break points in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his initial professional title, gained dominance to push for a decider.
The opponent rescued four early chances in a tight final set before the champion secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he clinched victory with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
